EU funding transparency: another huge milestone
December 18, 2008
Great news for transparency: the European Commission has setup a new website that allows querying all beneficieries of EU grants. It’s not perfect yet but it’s a huge step forward.
A while a ago I have reported about an earlier milestone in EU funding transparency, the public list of beneficiaries of EU agriculture funding. This time the Commission provides a central page allowing to query more than 10 billion € that are spent via funds and programmes of the European Commission.
Actually I found out about the new website via this new video on EUTUbe:

If one forgive’s the little problem that they forgot to put the URL of the website in the video I think this is really a great step about allowing people to know where EU money flows.
Here is the website: http://ec.europa.eu/grants/search/
Hint: check the “programme” box on the lower right corner of the search field to display details about the fund or programme.
